GUNG HO - A03

People in the US are known for their strong strain of individualism. They value this trait highly, and this feeling carries over into their professional life. It is sometimes not easy for some Americans to work in teams and to have management and workers share in the desicion-making process.

After watching the movie, what could you learn from the Japanese business management?

  1. this is the real history of everybody,sometimes we believe that we could do everything, but in fact, there is something that we can not do it alone.we need others.in a company for example we need to work as a team if we want to achieve our objective.i also learned that working together we can make the things more easier.

  2. well, nowadays there are alot of companies that adopted japanese business management, this system it´s about to work in teams, but in my opinion i don´t think so if it´s a good idea to work like that, for one reason japanese people work longer and don´t have enough time to enjoy their families.but on the other hand they produce their products better and faster.
    so,there is a big difference between japanese and american business
    management because in american companies they give individual recognition, and they have the opportunity to compete with the other employees . in american they give regular promotion to everyone.
    so in conclusion i think american system is better than japanese system because is better to pay a person according to how many he or she produces, because to work in a teams have advantages and disadvantages. one advantages is the they can find a solution to some problems very quickly and do better things together but the disadvantages are that they lose more time and also some employees are not work a the same level than the others, and finally the relationship maybeis not good.
    for example in tottus the employees are allways competing, and i think they work with american system management.
    that´s why i think american business management is better than japanese business management.

  3. The Japanese business management has been achieved goals in a certain period of time. Nowadays people live in a fast and convenient world so industries and companies have to satisfied their necessities, for that reason several companies adopted the Japanese system because it brings good results.
    Work in a team is a principle that Japanese Business management follow because this technique has many advantages. First of all, the level of production is going to increase, also they can interact with other people and learn how to do many things with them. In addition to that, workers are going to feel like an important part of the company; they are going to feel identified with the company values. Furthermore, they can share their ideas in from of their team and can adopt some of them in order to choose good alternatives. So, with the effort of each member of the team, the quality of a product or a service will be better that if you work alone.
    I think that the Japanese business management is an excellent philosophy that can guide a lot of companies because everybody is involved with the goals of the company. Also we can not forget that the best resource we have to be successful are people and their knowledge.

  4. American and Japanese management system has different ways to run a company as we know .These systems has positive and negative parts ,not all is perfect,not all is worse .However,after see the movie ,I could figure out something ,in the end we always learn something from others.
    Japanese management system is very strict and demanding when it comes about work and studies as well ,they spend too much time working and studying ,for instance,a high school student in Japan spend 59 hours per week at school ,so Can we imagine how much hours people spend in their work per week?They are such as loyal when they have to do something.It's good to be hardworking ,however the disadvantages of this ,is that they don't spend much time with family .Nevertheless,for that sacrifice ,they have a development country with a high tecnology .It is advancing every year thanks to these good workers.In fact,they used to this routine .For them,this life is normal ,nevertheless we can say ,How can't they spend much time with their family ?If they are primordial also ,it's a costume that they have though.Even though all not is bad ,they like to work as a team ,if everyone could work as a team ,all might work,I know ,perhaps it can have disadvantages, too.On the other hand ,one person always need a support to do something .In adittion,one of the advantages could be the motivation ,the fact of feeling on a team ,it makes the members to increase their motivation toward the work.
    In conclusion,if you have the courage ,knowledge and friends who are behind supporting you, everything can be achieved.

After watching the movie, what I can learn from Japanese Bussiness Management is that there are two important points, the valuation of the effort by the employers and the perseverance of the employee. Japanese people consider that everything they do must be always right, in a good way, because they are very well identificated with the company where they work; they are perfectionists in whatever they do, and sometimes they also sacrifice their family lives working so hard, extra hours with the only purpose of improving and applying their knowledges in a job; not only for their own satisfaction if not by a team satisfaction and recognition.
    Is important to say that working in teams has advantages and disadvantages, for example one of an advantage is that you will have several opinions and you can choose the most appropriate and one disadvantage could be that sometimes, some people don´t want to accept other opinions that constrast with their own ideas and that make lose time and money for the company.

  7. I think the world turns and the man moves in it. In fact, there are still companies where bosses don't want to change, and always argue with sentences such as: " ... continue to work as initially ", we do not need to change anything ... "" ... my workers don't need training, because they are the best ... " , " ... here it is as I say ... " .
    On the other hand, In Japanese management system has different ways to organize and produce.
    Gung Ho is a Chinese word that means Working Together, These airmen were famous for their enthusiasm , teamwork and remarkable results.
    This video teach me, that we could do different things but we have to do the things with energy, enthusiasm and dedication for any activity, in a similar way, I understand some strategies about the best way to lead a team and meet management strategies.

I couldnt stop watching this movie... japanese way to work is so different and is harder than in other countries... but is not act like a robot or work all the days of the week what brings you to the success... there could be many employees but if these employees don't form a good team all will be a wasted. something particular in japanese people is that they are very responsable in their jobs they consider is the most important and sometimes sacrifices their families to keep their jobs. but also something to admire from japanese people is that they recognize where is a good team like the movie.. some cars were not assembled totally but the boss said that the 14000 cars! congratulations.. there is a good team ...and i think is the most important in a factory...or wherever place... to improve and little by little get a great work and effective team

  9. First of all, I liked a lot this move I’m sure I’ve learned from the Japanese because; they are people really organized and responsible in their work. The Japanese system shows that one of the most important objectives for the company is that employees share the same values that the company, they can feel integrated as a team. but first, they have to follow some rules like a hard training, physical and mental discipline, but not only that, also I can also rescue some of their values, such as teamwork, loyalty to the company and first leader must lead by example and everybody inside of the company have to learn everything in order to do a good job. Maybe the Japanese are right, but the American system are really good too because, they have different strategies in the way they work, like for example incentives programs, they support each other and get in first place for their families because they know that life is in the families and not their jobs. In conclusions if I can combine the both strategies I can do a good job in every place and I can achieve all that I will propose.

  10. This movie was really interesting, Japanese are very disciplined and stricts, they are very perfectionists, punctual and responsible. They don't do only for the money, They do for satisfaction and recognition, but on the other hand they spend a lot of time working and they don't enjoy time with their family or friends an this is very sad.
    This movie shows that working in teams have some advantages for example they can finish the job faster, they can learn from others and also they can share knowledge.
    The American management and Japanese management have many good things and in the movie we can see that if we combine the two, could be better.

Japanese management system es a complex way of being success, because there are many factors that depend of the one, one of them is being serious and strict with everything to get everything you want, for example the japanese follows a tradition of respectful and tradition of doing everything according of their goals; for this reazon many people around the world considere that this is the reazon because of their success; in other scenery we can see tnah other cultures expect somebody begin the first step to do something or wait for getting something to do something.
    In conclusion, maybe japanese management system is not the only one way to succes, because it also has disadvantages, but is an example of discipline and respect that many management systems should learn.

Well, I have to say that it was an interesting movie and there are too many things to highlight about Japanese business management; one of those are that employers sacrifice many things like the time that they spend with their family, their lunch, their sleep and others; and they do that only for one reason because they feel proud for the company, they feel proud for their work and they could work extra hours only to improve their quality and quantity; another thing is that they are so organized; also they consider too much the value of their word. Instead of that, american people prefer do all the things as they want and they are lazy.
    So, I thing that we have to do some things that japanese people do, like to be organized and feel proud for our work but it has to be a good work of course.

  13. This movie shows a comparsion about the style of life of the japanese and american family. In japanese system, people try to follow the rules for getting their goals and they have to develop a hard training physically and mentally for doing the things right. On the other hand, american system uses another kind of strategies thinking first in their families. To conclude, I think if you want to be succes in business, you must use some tips from japanese culture.

  14. I’ve really enjoyed this film, I liked the way they become a great team between workers and the management of two different cultures, Japanese and American.
    All of them have their interests in the business of making cars: Mr Stevenson, the coordinator, to keep his promotion, his great job; Mr. Kazuhiro, Japanese executive to redeem his capacities like a good manager and the workers to have a good job and a good salary.
    They realize that the only way they can achieve them is the need to be a team and after all the disputes and culture clash they faced in all the film, they could solve the problem. They understood that to be ethical, cooperative and hardworking, would be the only way to get what they want. At the end of the film, Assan Motor Plant will not close and their life will be as good as it was before.

Well, for me this video shows the culture of both countries related to work area,in this case american culture has a single and conformist attitude at work, they work only to get money but don't have a compromise to the work environment, in contrast to the Japanese that spend most of their time working in team for the good of the company, it's good but the job not is all in the life. In my opinion i strongly believe that people should feel confortable in workplace and the company should remember that their workers aren't machines and consider their complaints. On the other hand, the life has others aspects like the family, for example the japonese in the movie didn't have time for son's birthday, I think life is a complement to other activities like for example the family time for that we should know how to organize ourselves, and finally have a desire to improve ourselves every day.

  16. This movie show the mistakes in both business management. First of all, american management has a problem with the responsabilities because people want a lot of benefits without committing with the company. For other hand japanese management is the other part because people has a lot of responsabilities to conserve their job. And this is bad because all person need have a private life to enjoy and have fun. To this reason all the people should divide the job of the life because we are not only a machine to produce something. When, the work invades our life start the problem in the family or in our relationship, and this is a problem for the japanese who put the job in first place. Also is important the place where you work and have a good communication the owners and employees and have a common goal to get the final reward for both. To conclude, have succes means we need feel happy with the work and in our personal life.

  17. I found this movie very important, specially for business, because it shows some tips to achieve the goals of any company.
    The film contrasts the ideas of Japanese people and American people related to the best way to manage and conduct business and the type of relationship with the workers.
    In my opinion, I agree with the ideology of the Japanese, I am convinced that the teamwork is one of the most important factors that a company must maintain if they want to achieve their goals.
    Moreover, I think the results of a Teamwork is reflected in increased productivity, because of they all have a common objetive; other consecuence of this is that it yields a significant improvement in the work quality of an individual, for that reason the teamwork is part of the continuous improvement because each worker contributes his own ideas and finally the teamwork is important because it creates a better working environment, the good relations between workers help us to make the best decisions.
